General information about the Department of Environment and Soil Science (DMACS)

The Department of Environment and Soil Science is specialized in different fields related to the application of technologies for the study of the environment and its sustainability: Soil Science, Applied Physics, Physical Geography, Environmental Technologies and Experimental Sciences Teaching. The Department participates in teaching and research in three campuses of the University of Lleida: ETSEA Campus (School of Agrifood and Forestry Science and Engineering), Cappont Campus (Polytechnic School and Faculty of Education, Psychology and Social Worker) and the Rectorate Campus (Faculty of Arts). The direction and administrative secretary of department is located at the ETSEA Campus.

The department organizes the Master Degree in Soil and Water Management and participates in the Doctorate Programs in Agricultural and Food Science and Technology, Forest and the Environment Management, Engineering and Information Technologies. Periodically, it also organizes other training courses.

The research of the department is structured around different consolidated research groups. The research groups to which the members of the department belong to are: 

The department offers services related to its expertise and research lines to other researchers and/or the general public. These services are offered through the Scientific and Technical Labs of the department or through contracts with the different responsible researchers.
